L2P Program

L2P graduate photoJanine Fleming, Hepburn L2P Coordinator was thrilled to congratulate Adelle Brereton on becoming the first learner to get her licence through the L2P Program, supported by her mentor Harry Gibcus.

The program is funded through VicRoads and the Transport Accident Commission and is being implemented in partnership with the Daylesford Neighborhood House and Hepburn Shire Council.

Residents have trained as Volunteer Supervising Drivers/Mentors to help young learner drivers gain the supervised driving practice required to move from ‘L' plates to ‘P' Plates.

Since the program began in March 2010, 25 learner drivers have been successful in obtaining their P plates and a total of 62,383km have been travelled over 1,514 hours logged.

More mentors are now required to ensure we can contiinue to help these future road users. Full training and support is provided.
